The Ministry of Defence (MoD) has approved the establishment of New Sainik Schools (NSS) in collaboration with NGOs, private schools, and State Governments. This initiative aims to leverage public-private partnerships in the education sector, utilizing existing infrastructure available with reputed private and government schools while creating new capacities to meet the increasing demand for education in a Sainik School environment.
New Sainik Schools Admission Explained
Channels of Admission:

40% Route:
- Minimum 40% of the seats under the Sainik School stream in approved NSSs will be filled based on the rank secured in the All India Merit List of AISSEE 2024.
- Domicile and category considerations are not applicable for this Merit List.
- Candidates can choose any NSS in India at the time of counseling.

60% Route:
- Up to 60% of the seats in NSSs will be filled by students who are currently studying in any of the approved NSSs.
- Admission will be based on the rank secured in the School-wise Merit List.
- Similar to the 40% route, domicile and category considerations are not applicable for this Merit List.
